Session synopsisBuilding information modelling, including digital twins, has numerous benefits and creates vast opportunities for innovation and increased efficiency in all stages of the built environment value chain, from design to management. Proptech is largely focused parts of the value chain including investment, design, management and use . Proptech is broad, including various forms of proptech technology and wider innovation, but it has more of a mind set focused on innovation of how the business of property is done. The overlaps between BIM and proptech are clear, with the digital foundation created by BIM providing a solid foundation for proptech services and products, particularly around data creation and use, around principles of big data.
